There are symptoms that go hand in hand with the noun hangover: headache or vomiting. But there's much more. Far from being a condition based purely on physical symptoms, a hangover affects us psychologically. And it's our patients, experts in anxiety, who frequently let us know. "But me... Why do I have anxiety?" Well, it's not just your impression, but when people drink, they later experience more anxiety. "Hangxiety" (hangover, hangover, and anxiety) is the term used to refer to the anxiety we feel after a night of drinking. It's not an anxiety that's reduced to anterograde amnesia caused by alcohol ("I don't remember anything!"). People describe it as a short-term (usually a day) episode of generalized anxiety, an overwhelming feeling of nervousness.
