Congress High Command’s Mega Plan for Siddaramaiah has triggered intense political discussion in Karnataka after the former Chief Minister was appointed as a member of the Congress Working Committee. The national leadership appears determined to continue using Siddaramaiah’s political experience, mass appeal and strong connection with AHINDA communities even after the change of leadership in Karnataka.Reports suggest the Congress leadership has recognised that sidelining Siddaramaiah could politically damage the party. His influence among backward classes, minorities, Dalits, farmers and welfare beneficiaries continues to make him one of the Congress party’s most powerful leaders in Karnataka.
