Bengaluru Street Vendor Breaks Down Over Eviction Drive as a woman trader from Kengeri emotionally described the loss she allegedly suffered during the recent footpath clearance operation. Speaking exclusively to Ashwavega News, the vendor accused the authorities of destroying goods purchased with her savings and leaving her family without a source of income. The woman claimed that she had invested nearly ₹25,000 to purchase items for her roadside business. According to her allegation, the merchandise was damaged or removed during the enforcement drive. She blamed Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s administration and alleged that police personnel acted without humanity while clearing the vending location. “I was peacefully earning my livelihood in Kengeri. Now everything has been destroyed. They have assets worth crores, but the street is our only shelter,” the vendor said while expressing her anguish before Ashwavega News. Vendor organisations have alleged confiscation of goods without sufficient notice and demanded that evictions be stopped until surveys, vending certificates and rehabilitation arrangements are completed. The government has said vendors would be relocated rather than permanently displaced. “ಇಲ್ಲೇ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ, ಇಲ್ಲೇ ನಿದ್ದೆ; ನಮ್ಮ ನೋವು ಕೇಳುವವರೇ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಮಹಿಳೆ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಯ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೋಪಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
