A man was arrested by police in Leeds after shouting that Muhammad was a “rapist and killer” during a pro-Palestinian demonstration. Video shared online appeared to show officers moving in quickly after he repeated the remarks and criticised Islam, sparking a fierce row over free speech, public order and whether Britain is policing religion fairly. Police had not announced formal charges at the time of writing, and it remains unclear whether the man was later released.
