Has The Greatest Mystery of the Sea Finally Been SOLVED? The Mary Celeste and the Missing Crew

On Decemeber 5, 1872, a Canadian Brigantine known as The Mary Celeste was found abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean with all of it crew's personal belongings and cargo still onboard. There was no sign of damage, fire or violence and the Mary Celeste was still seaworthy enough to be sailed into port over 1000km away. For over a century, there has been no explanation for why the crew seemed to abandon ship in such a hurry, despite there being nothing wrong the Mary Celeste - until now (sort of) A scientist at UCL built a replica of the ship, and demonstrated how the cargo the Mary Celeste was carrying could have been the reason the crew were in such a hurry to get off the ship. #unsolvedmystery #maritimemysteries #maryceleste #truestory #historicalmysteries #disappearance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Information Sources: Britannica https://www.britannica.com/topic/Mary...
