Episode 169: 1 Kings 7:1-12

June 7, 2026: Solomon Builds His Palace It took 13 years and the finest of materials to construct Solomons Palace. It was clear that Solomon wanted a palace that was opulent and impressive to all who might see it. He also builds a palace for the daughter of Pharoah who was his wife perhaps indicating that Solomon was very susceptible to the desires of his wives and concubines and allowed them to worship their own gods and built shrines for their gods. This caused him to stray from what God would have wanted from him. The palace and his lifestyle might have been an expression of his pride and in the end caused the kingdom to divide.
