Episode 191: Amos 8:1-14

June 29, 2026: God Will Judge All Unrighteousness The prophet takes note of all the failings of the people of Israel, their greed, their dishonesty, their exploitation of the weak and the poor and warns that God's patience has run out. He will no longer tolerate their unrighteous behavior. Amos sees the judgement falling on Israel from Assyria. There will be death, destruction and exile. This chapter does not have any note of redemption from this judgement, something that often appears in prophecies of Judgement. I neglected to say in my message what I believe may be the most devastating aspect of God's judgement, i.e., withholding His word. I believe that the silence of God is more terrifying than His anger.
