Episode 178: Mark 4:1-9

June 16, 2026: The Parable of the Sower This is the beginning of Jesus teaching in parables. The Parable of the Sower indicates that the gospel is available to everyone but not everyone has the desire or the ability to receive the gospel and live by its teachings. The seed by the wayside represent those who don't care about the gospel and are easy prey for Satan as birds can easily find and devour the seed. The rocky soil represents those who receive the gospel but don't allow it to penetrate and change their hearts and soon disregard it entirely. The seed among the weeds are those who receive the word but are too distracted by things of the world to allow it to take root. The seed on the good soil are those who receive the gospel, live the gospel and they themselves become Sowers of the seed producing more good seed.
