Dozens of Russian “shadow fleet” vessels struck in Sea of Azov -Traffic through Kerch Strait halted

In addition, 76 vessels have been hit over a six-day period July 6–11, with Russia’s shadow oil fleet suffering significant losses and traffic through the Kerch Strait being halted. According to the statement by Ukraine’s military, the overnight operation targeted: 21 oil tankers, 4 tugboats, 2 cargo ships, and 1 specialized support vessels. 73 successful strikes have been recorded. The statement further claims that Ukrainian forces engaged 53 military targets overnight in occupied Crimea and southern Russian-occupied territories, including naval assets and energy infrastructure, as part of an ongoing campaign referred to as “Operation Crimean Switch Off.” The attacks on the tanker fleet were carried out by drone units from several Ukrainian formations, including “Birds of Madyar,” K-2 Brigade, Raid, Nemesis, and other SBS units. The statement concludes by asserting that Russia is continuing to suffer “technological humiliation” and claims that its military position will ultimately collapse through Crimea.
