Outstanding bivvy spot in the most iconic peak in the Picos; Naranjo De Bulnes, Uriella, North Spain

Picos de Uriella also known as Naranjo De Bulnes is one of the most iconic peaks in the Picos. Many capture a shot of it from the valley, a smaller number venture into the mountain range to stand afoot its intimidating loom, even fewer attempt this over 250m VS graded ascent. But, those brave enough including myself with vouch for the fact that it’s one of the best VS grade climbs in the world. Here’s our journey to its base where we Bivvy out under the stars ready for an early morning ascent.
