Brauchen Angler wirklich eine Fischerprüfung?

Do anglers in Germany really need a fishing exam? Following our last video about the changes to the North Rhine-Westphalia State Fisheries Act, there were numerous comments and lively discussions. Many anglers welcome the new regulations, while others raise fundamental questions about the fishing exam, the required expertise, the fishing levy, or the differences between Germany and other countries. In this video, we would like to address these discussions openly. Why is there a fishing exam at all? What arguments support it? Which criticisms are justified? And what role do animal welfare, nature conservation, and the social acceptance of fishing play? This isn't about defending every existing regulation. Exam content can and should be regularly reviewed and updated. Nevertheless, the question remains whether anglers need demonstrable expertise and what significance this has for our hobby.
