You just need to purchase a USB to ethernet adapter. If your laptop has a USB to ethernet adapter connected to it, it will use one of its USB ports to make an ethernet connection. One important note is that some USB to ethernet adapters will require you to install a driver on the laptop you plan on using it with. This driver software will allow your laptop to use the adapter when you plug it into one of its USB ports. Once the driver has been downloaded and installed, you need to plug the USB to ethernet adapter into one of your laptop’s USB ports. From there, you connect one end of an ethernet cable to the USB to ethernet adapter (which is connected to your laptop). Then you just need to connect the other end of the ethernet cable to one of the ethernet ports on your router. Once these two connections have been made, you will see the link lights on the USB to ethernet adapter start to blink. This is confirmation that the ethernet connection is working properly.
