Leaving the Portpatrick Hotel, we descend through the picturesque harbour village of Portpatrick before following the B738 south into the peaceful countryside of the Rhins of Galloway. The road winds through rolling farmland and patches of woodland, with occasional glimpses of the Irish Sea as we leave the village behind. After joining the A716, the journey continues through the quiet communities of Sandhead and Drummore, where the landscape becomes increasingly remote.
