He was talking about the worst life can throw at a person. And then he says: yet in all these things — we are more than conquerors. The Greek word behind more than conquerors is hypernikao - hyper meaning above and beyond, nikao meaning to overcome. It does not mean you barely survive. It means you come out of the battle with more than you went in with. More faith. More depth. More of God. And notice how this victory is secured, not through your strength, not through your strategy, not through your performance, but through Him who loved us.
