Convention di Donne Impresa: 80 anni di storia per un futuro di intelligenza artigiana femminile

A dual anniversary of extraordinary historical, civic, and economic significance provided the backdrop for the National Convention of Donne Impresa Confartigianato, held today in Rome at the Confederation headquarters. The event celebrated the 80th anniversary of women's right to vote in Italy and, simultaneously, the 80th anniversary of Confartigianato's founding: two parallel journeys that, from 1946 to the present, have built democracy, representation, and development in the country. The conference, led by Angelo Mellone (Director of Entertainment Daytime at RAI), offered a rich in-depth analysis, political vision, and operational proposals to transform these achievements into new beginnings. The day began with a welcome address from Confartigianato Imprese President Marco Granelli, who highlighted how the artisan business model generates not only economic wealth, but also a fundamental "social GDP," serving as an irreplaceable link between manufacturing, families, and local communities. Granelli praised women entrepreneurs' ability to combine tradition and digitalization, noting that Artificial Intelligence must remain a tool at the service of human excellence and "Artisan Intelligence." She then called for overcoming individualism in favor of unity of purpose, emphasizing the need for urgent legislative reform: "Today we celebrate the eightieth anniversary of our Confederation, along with women's right to vote. We believe our world must be governed by laws that keep pace with the times. The 1985 framework law is about to be reformed with a new law that meets the needs of artisanship 5.0. Alongside this, we offer an important credit solution with the new Artigiancassa, a financial instrument to provide liquidity to our entrepreneurs as they face the challenges of the digital, green, and sustainability transitions, which for us always rhymes with competitiveness." Maria Grazia Bonsignore, President of Donne Impresa Confartigianato, introduced the proceedings by outlining the close dynamic connection between the event's key words: enterprise, empowerment, and welfare. Bonsignore clarified that emancipation is not a partisan claim, but a strategic investment and an enabling infrastructure for collective growth: "Today we are summarizing three fundamental concepts in a single word because we are a convention with strong participation from women from all over Italy. We have immense expertise in our artisanal tradition that we want to pass on, but at the same time, we want to provide younger generations with the ability to approach their careers with welfare tools that enable participation in both work and family life."
