Ansonia Triumph (circa 1880) Restoration

I've always wanted this particular model and finally came across one on a second hand website. It got damaged during shipping as it wasn't boxed properly but that didn't bother me too much. I prefer buying clocks that need a bit of TLC. As it turned out there was a lot to be done to repair the clock anyway. The real delight was discovering that it was one of the earlier models. The movement was very dirty and completely dried out. I didn't want to loose what was left of the original gold gilt and cleaned it with very mild detergents and a brush - it will be visible in the video that the movement isn't polished or spotless after cleaning, just clean enough to function properly. As always, the aim is not to make the clock look new but rather just whole again. All usable original parts were put back and new ones fabricated to resemble original ones as close as I could get them.
