The year is 2024: #Accure is THE German #battery startup! The business model: The Aachen-based company manages 5 GWh of batteries worldwide, from which it taps as much data as possible. This data feeds cloud models that predict the battery operator's precise #lifespan of the #cells – and recommends better charging profiles and maintenance tips. Accure's customers transmit this battery data in real time so that Accure can act as a "fire alarm": A #runaway cell can usually be predicted very early on. But let's start from the beginning: Accure is developing battery analysis software that enables operators of e-fleets and battery parks to "look deeper into the cells." On the hardware side, Accure operates completely independently of #cell chemistry and format. Only the data from the modules' #battery management systems (BMS) must be transmitted wirelessly to the cloud in near real time. Based on anomalies in operating data, "Battery Intelligence" detects: Early detection of a thermal runaway (a cell running out of power) Impending cell failure or production error BMS errors Recommendation: Cell lifespan predictions (optimizable charging profile, optimized temperature/filter systems) It's logical that Accure is now also collaborating with insurance companies to certify that battery park operators are handling their cells correctly. Insurers, for their part, have an interest in (1) preventing more fires and (2) tracing a battery fire that has already occurred back to its specific cause through data analysis.
