Before dropping down to the river trails, I took a brief detour into Coleford town centre to check out the setup for the music festival kicking off later that day. The stages were up, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed — a quiet pause before the energy of the event began to build. I crossed four beautiful bridges, including the charming Biblins Bridge, all before the valley truly began to come alive. The Wye Valley, bright with sunshine, was still cool and hushed, with birdsong drifting through the trees — an ideal moment to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the solitude before the soaring temperatures of the UK heatwave.
