PROPHETS WITHOUT HONOR

📖 Mark 6:1–5; John 2:1–5 God often blesses His people through different channels, including the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures, and other people. One of the greatest mistakes we can make is failing to recognize the people God sends into our lives because of familiarity. In Mark 6, Jesus returned to His hometown, taught the people, and desired to minister to them. However, because they were familiar with Him, they failed to honor Him and could not receive what He came to do. Familiarity caused them to overlook God's greatest blessing. We must be careful not to become so familiar with God's servants that we lose the ability to receive from them. Mary demonstrated the opposite attitude at the wedding in Cana. She knew who Jesus was and what He was able to do. She confidently brought the need before Him and encouraged others to obey whatever He said. Her faith and honor created an atmosphere for a miracle. To receive God's blessings, we must recognize His channels, honor the people He uses, believe in what He can do, bring our needs to Him in faith, and encourage others to trust and obey Him. Honor opens the door to receiving all that God desires to do in our lives. #prophet #churchofpentecost #christiansermon
