You offer defiled bread on my altar and say, “How have we defiled the Lord?” For you say, “The table of the Lord is to be despised.” 8. The Lord of hosts says: “Is it not evil to offer blind sacrifices? Is it not evil to offer lame and sick sacrifices? Now try offering them to your governor; will he be pleased with you? Will he accept you?” 9. The Lord of hosts says: “Try asking me, God, for grace, saying, ‘Have mercy on us.’ Since you have acted this way, even if I were one of you. Will I accept it? 10. The LORD of hosts says: "I wish there were someone among you to shut the temple doors so that you would not burn in vain on My altar. I am not pleased with you, nor will I accept what you offer with your hands." 11. The LORD of hosts says: "My name will be great among the nations from the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun. In every place, incense will be burned for My name and pure offerings will be offered, for My name will be great among the nations." 12. But you defile My name by saying, "The table of the LORD is defiled, and the fruit on it, the food, is to be despised." 13. The LORD of hosts says: "You also say, 'How troublesome this is!' and you scoff and bring stolen goods, lame animals, and sick animals. Since you bring such offerings, will I accept them from your hands?" This is the word of the LORD. 14. Among the herds there is a male, and in the matter of the vow, you deceive Me by offering a defective one. "The man shall be cursed, for I am a great King, and My name is feared among the nations," declares the Lord of Hosts. 1. Now I command you, you priests: 2. Thus says the Lord of Hosts: "If you do not listen and do not take it to heart, and do not glorify My name, I will bring a curse upon you and curse your blessing. I have already cursed it, because you took it to heart. 3.
