EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2002 - My Top 24 (With comments)

As mentioned a while ago, my goal is to go back and make rankings on past years of Eurovision, with 2002 being up next! (Unfortunately one of - what I consider - the weakest editions of all in Eurovision) The 2002 contest of Eurovision was the first to take place in Estonia, in the nation's capital of Tallinn. 24 countries competed this year. The 2002 contest was won by Latvia, achieving a first victory with Marie N's 'I Wanna'. Malta finished in 2nd place with Ira Losco's '7th Wonder', a record result for Malta until 2005. Third place was a tie between the United Kingdom's Jessica Garlick with "Come Back", and Estonia's Sahlene with "Runaway". After their regulation from 2001, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Macedonia, Romania and Switzerland returned for this edition, while Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway and Poland were relegated and therefore had to sit the year out. No new countries debuted this year, but 2002 was the first year to use a slogan along with the contest, it being "A Modern Fairytale". #eurovision #eurovision2023 #esc2023 #MarieN #iwanna #tallinn #estonia #latvia #songfestival
