Cuando la universidad se vuelve campo de batalla / Tenemos que hablar de Cine/ Radio UNLa

Adrián Pérez Llahí, a research professor at UNLa, analyzes and recommends the film Puan (2024), by María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat. “It’s a portrait of a certain educated middle class in Buenos Aires, whose members hold jobs such as, for example, being philosophy professors at the university,” Pérez Llahí points out. In the film, academic hallways become the stage for professional and personal disputes, where a teaching competition sparks questions about merit, chance, and everyone’s place in the system. “The specific name, ‘Puan,’ takes on significance, referring to a toponymic location on an obscure street in a city neighborhood, the institution, and the major problems facing the nation,” the research professor explains on the program Todo Tiene Movimiento (Everything Has Movement). "That general concept of the big versus the small reminded me a lot of Fabián Bielinsky's *Nine Queens*, where the small scale of that little business ends up framed within the larger problem of the 2001 crisis. Something similar is happening here, but in a different sphere: the academic world and the university system, which is constantly besieged by policies that seem to hate it," concludes Pérez Llahí. Everything is in motion — Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 🌐 Web: radio.unla.edu.ar 📸 Instagram: @radio.unla #RadioUnla #unla #Research #Puan #WeNeedToTalkAboutFilm #AdriánPérezLlahí #ArgentineCinema #UNLa
