Marathon Training at 68: Shoes, Niggles & Not Overdoing It

With ten weeks to go until my 50th marathon, training is actually going… well. Which might be the most dangerous phase of all. In this episode I talk honestly about backing off when a niggle appears, using the exercise bike to protect an Achilles tendon, and resisting the urge to force intensity too early. I also walk through my current running shoe rotation — from daily trainers to carbon-plated racers — and take my first easy run in a new pair. This isn’t about optimisation or hacks. It’s about consistency, restraint, and staying healthy long enough to give yourself a real shot on race day. I’m 68 years old, training for marathon number 50, and still learning when to push — and when not to ruin a good thing. Eat Sleep Run Repeat on Spotify : https://open.spotify.com/show/3V6eJjt...
