After a lengthy investigation and recovery operation, the US Coast Guard's public hearing called upon testimonies from key individuals, either connected to OceanGate, or the Titan sub in some way. This video covers the testimony given by Roy Thomas, a Senior Principal Engineer at the American Bureau of Shipping. In this video, we learn about Mr Thomas' employment history, which is undeniably impressive, and then are shown a presentation which he prepared for the public hearing. The presentation gives an insight into the classification process, covering everything from design, to testing, to approved materials, and also carbon fiber. Mr Thomas also answers questions regarding two notable incidents that happened with Titan; one being when the front dome fell off, and the other when a loud bang was heard as the sub resurfaced from a dive.
