Smoke Tree Slots: Death Valley Discoveries Ep. 1

On January 4, 2016, Steve Hall, Tobin King, and Charlie Callagan discovered the Smoke Tree Slots in the Owlshead Mountains of Death Valley National Park. The Smoke Tree Slots are three spectacular slot canyons in close proximity to Great Dry Fall Canyon. In March of 2023, Steve retraces his original route over the course of about 10 miles to bring viewers a firsthand look at this amazing place in Death Valley Discoveries Episode 1. The parking area for the Smoke Tree Slots hike is located 1.5 miles north of the Amargosa River crossing. GPS coordinates for Smoke Tree Slot #1 are 35.780402, -116.590854.
