Pronghorn Canyon: Death Valley Discoveries Ep. 21

Explorer Steve Hall returns with a brand new overnight backpack through an area in the far northern Grapevine Mountains of Death Valley NP which has not yet been documented by hikers. Steve and his sister Tiffany spot a pronghorn at the canyon mouth and evidence that pronghorns are using the lower canyon. As a result, they name the canyon Pronghorn Canyon. On Day 1, they find that the canyon has great beauty with a major dry fall, very difficult bypass, several areas of narrows, and a unique area that they call The Blocks. On Day 2, they reach a major Death Valley summit and loop back via a canyon containing vivid red shale. The discovery and exploration of Pronghorn Canyon is showcased in Death Valley Discoveries Episode 21. The mouth of Pronghorn Canyon is located at: 37.095987, -117.462945. Our entire route was around 20 miles round-trip. A map and more information about the route will be included in my guidebook.
