Botswana & Etosha 2023 | Pt. 5 | Etosha West & die Löwen von Hobatere

On our drive to the Hobatere Lodge we get our first impressions of the western part of the Etosha National Park. Etosha West has always fascinated me because of its landscape, but above all because of the low density of tourists: it is not uncommon for us to be alone at one of the waterholes in this part of the park. This means we can not only observe the animals in peace, but also enjoy their sounds and noises. The Hobatere Lodge, where we will spend 2 nights, is located about half an hour outside the park. It is embedded in a breathtaking landscape and is home to many of Africa's wild animals. You can meet them either on the drive between the lodge and the gate located directly on the C35 or on a guided game drive. We decide on this the morning after our first overnight stay and are not disappointed: a pride of lions with two males, lionesses and cubs enjoy the first rays of sunshine of the early day with us. After breakfast I drive to the Etosha National Park one last time. At the Okawao waterhole I again come across many elephants, but also two secretary birds - these are large birds of prey with distinctive head feathers and long, strong legs. I drive out to the Klippan waterhole and get a feeling of pure wilderness. The next day Lena and I set off for the Onduri Lodge, where we review our vacation and spend our last night before flying back to Germany. Thank you to all of you who have watched us up to this point - I look forward to welcoming you to my next video series soon, because: after the holiday is before the holiday!
