Hudson Races Through the Goulburn Valley to the Border Tocumwal Steam Spectacular 2026 Steamrail Part 2 - Day 2 to Tocumwal and Return Hello all, Welcome back to a Victorian heritage train chase video. Today we continue with our trek to the border as part of Steamrail Victoria's Tocumwal Steam Spectacular. The Tocumwal Steam Spectacular is one of Steamrail's largest tours for 2026, encapsulating two components: a weekender and day trip. The weekender began on Friday with solo R711 taking a leisurely trip to the border town with the sleeper carriages. Saturday was a relaxing day for passengers to explore Tocumwal and the surroundings. An early morning departure on Sunday from Tocumwal kicked off the trip back south, now under the power of R761. The Day Trip was a return trip to the border town on Saturday. The first portion was hauled by A2986 and R761, pushing through the Dividing Ranges. At Seymour, the A2 was dropped off to allow R761 to take charge of the 13-carriage train single-handedly through the Goulburn Valley. At Tocumwal, the two Hudsons met and swapped positions, allowing R711 to now return the day trip south. After a cruise along the valley behind the former 'Super R', the A2 was reattached to the front of the train at Seymour for the final sprint back home. In this part we continue with our trip to the border from where we left off the A2 in Seymour. We follow the return until the sun disappears below the horizon, ending off our chase at Murchison East.
