Bandar Lampung, Lampung - Ten prospective Hajj pilgrims from Lampung Province have confirmed their departure to the Holy Land for the 1447 AH/2026 AD Hajj season has been canceled or postponed. Various factors, including health conditions, deaths, and incomplete documents, are the main causes of these cancellations. As of Saturday (May 2, 2026), 2,657 pilgrims from Lampung out of a total quota of 5,869 have departed for Saudi Arabia. The Head of the Lampung Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, M. Ansori, confirmed that six groups have departed from the Rajabasa Hajj Dormitory in Bandar Lampung. The ten pilgrims who failed to depart were spread across several groups and came from four regions: Central Lampung Regency, North Lampung Regency, Way Kanan Regency, and Pesawaran Regency. "Of the total number of pilgrims who entered the dormitory, 10 had their departure postponed due to health reasons and incomplete documents," explained M. Ansori. The ministry ensured that all services at the Rajabasa Hajj Dormitory, from health checks to living expenses, were running according to standard operating procedures. However, reports from officials in the Holy Land indicated that a number of pilgrims, particularly the elderly, were beginning to experience illness due to fatigue. Regarding this, M. Ansori urged pilgrims to manage their energy wisely and prioritize performing the obligatory Hajj rituals. (*)
