Driven by a desire to ride my motorcycle even for a short while, I started late at 2 PM. Since I couldn't go too far, this time I opted for a local tour, visiting the western shore of Lake Biwa and the inner part of the lake. The view of Lake Biwa from National Route 161 (Kosei Road) was beautifully blue, especially with the good weather. The vast, blue sky was also impressive. Afterwards, I passed Shirahige Shrine and headed to Sotogahama. This is the point where the distance to the opposite shore is longest, and where Lake Biwa appears largest. After a short break, I went to the Sugaura settlement in the inner part of Lake Biwa via Kaizu-Osaki. The winding, scenic shoreline from Sugaura to Oura was simply delightful.
