I trudged along Prefectural Road 781, the Aso-Furuya-Umenoki Line, the road to Onyu Pass, and entered the Koiridani settlement and the Koiridani Forest Road. However, upon entering the forest at the foot of Onyu Pass, I encountered snow and had to give up on reaching Onyu Pass. It seems that it was too early at the end of March. Afterwards, I headed to the primeval beech forest of Ikisugi. The road surface was dirty and there was snow on the shoulders of the road, but I managed to reach my destination. The sunlight filtering through the beech forest was very beautiful. However, the road surface was dirty. Then, I rode along the Aso-Furuya-Umenoki Line through the mountains of Kuchiki Village to National Route 367, the Saba Kaido. The weather was great, and I enjoyed the ride through the mountains of Kuchiki for the first time in a while.
