Stradów po rewitalizacji! Największe grodzisko w Polsce - historia i przygoda🏰🛡️

✨ Stradów Hillfort – History Comes to Life! ✨ We were here in 2023, when the hillfort grounds were still awaiting their major transformation. Now, two years later, we're back to show you what Stradów looks like in its new guise after the 2024 revitalization! 🔥 🏰 The largest hillfort in Poland – a true treasure of the early Middle Ages. Its area reaches a staggering 25 hectares, and its system of ramparts and moats is still impressive. It's no coincidence that many researchers call it the "Biskupin of the Holy Cross." 📜 History and Significance The first fortifications may have been built as early as the 9th-10th centuries. Stradów was one of the most important centers of the Vistulans – a tribe inhabiting Lesser Poland. It was here that the population could take refuge during raids, as the hillfort served as a refuge. 👉 Archaeologists have discovered traces of wooden fortifications and rich finds confirming the daily lives of its inhabitants. 🛡️ Thanks to its strategic location, Strady controlled trade routes along the Nida River and served as one of the centers of local power. ⚔️ The settlement system consisted of a main stronghold and several outlying settlements (including "Na Górze" and "Mieszkalny"), making it one of the largest early medieval settlements in Central Europe. In the 11th century, the stronghold's importance began to decline, as new centers of the Piast dynasty, such as Kraków and Wiślica, developed. Although the stronghold was abandoned, its earthen ramparts survive to this day, standing as a testament to the power of bygone times. 🌿 Revitalization 2024 Thanks to the "Development of the Tourist Space in Stradów" project (costing approximately PLN 5.2 million), the area has been renovated: • 🚶 Walking paths paved with stone were created, • 🌉 oak footbridges and bridges were built without the use of nails, • 🏚️ a former shop was converted into an Educational and Tourist Information Point, • 🛖 shelters and rest areas were added, • 🌳 a passage through the gorge from the Kopanina side was created. Work was temporarily suspended in 2023 following concerns from archaeologists who wanted to limit interference with the ramparts – this project will better protect the heritage while simultaneously making it accessible to tourists. 🚁 The drone footage in our film will show you the scale and layout of the stronghold – only from a bird's eye view can you understand the significant role Stradów played in the Middle Ages! 🎁 Finally, a little bonus – we'll take you to a nearby gorge, a hidden attraction that not everyone gets to, but which perfectly complements a visit to the stronghold. 🌟 Why is it worth watching? • The largest stronghold in Poland – the heart of former Lesser Poland. • The history of the Vistulans, the early Piast dynasty, and life during the invasion era. • A combination of archaeology, legends, and modern revitalization. • Extraordinary drone views and the bonus of a mysterious gorge. 👉 If you're curious about the intersection of history and modernity, and want to discover one of the region's most interesting places – this video is for you! 📌 Subscribe and let us know in the comments if you've been to Stradów! 📲 Stay connected! 🎥 YouTube:    / @family-hiking   📘 Facebook:   / artur.trojnacki   📸 Instagram:   / family_hiking_official   #explore #subscribe #travel #vlog #urbex #adventure #hiking #dji #drone #abandoned #urbex #familyhiking #history #abandonedplaces #ruins #travel #exploration #ruins #adventure #abandoned #familyhiking #ruins #history #mystery #poland #family #polska #sightseeing #travelvlog #travelcontent #medieval #sightseeing #action #action5pro #dronephotography #dronevideo #urbexpoland #solo @Family-Hiking #stradow
