Fallout 3 Was Right | Retrospective Review

Fallout 3 rebuilt the franchise as a real-time, open-world Bethesda RPG, trading the turn-based isometric format of the originals for a fully explorable and immersive Capital Wasteland. This retrospective covers the game after 150 hours of full completion: every bobblehead, every custom weapon, every marked location, and all five DLCs (Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, Mothership Zeta) played in order. Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game in 2008, I played the isometric originals only much later, but even with that context in mind, this remains my favorite entry in the series. But the game that saved the franchise also permanently split its fanbase, was that trade worth it? This is the third retrospective of the Fallout franchise.
