I Tried Highlining for the First Time in Costa Rica

I came to JunglaWow in Santa Ana, Costa Rica to try highlining for the first time ever… and ended up finding one of the most welcoming communities I’ve ever been around. I went with a friend who had done it before, but I showed up with absolutely zero experience. No expectations. No idea how difficult it would actually be. And within minutes, I realized highlining is not something you can fake, force, or muscle your way through. It takes patience. Breath. Focus. Humility. And a willingness to fall over and over again. After years in professional sports and gym culture, I’ve slowly been drawn toward a different kind of athleticism — one that feels more connected to meditation, presence, nature, the breath and the nervous system. Highlining felt like the perfect meeting point between all of those things. Huge thank you to Lothar, Nico, Rocio and Julio. The crew at JunglaWow made me feel like a part of the tribe (or troop 🤔🐒.) I'm grateful for them taking me under their wing and making this such a meaningful day that I will never forget. This was my first time highlining… but it definitely won’t be my last.
