This video compares the different versions of the field theme "To the Horizon" from "Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride," featuring the Super Famicom, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo DS soundtracks. By request, it also includes the "To the Horizon" theme from "Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland," comparing the Game Boy, PlayStation, and Nintendo 3DS versions. At the end, all six tracks are remixed together. Many fans remember this memorable field theme from DQ5. It's a masterpiece by Sugiyama, known for being endlessly listenable without getting repetitive. This time, by comparing the versions from "Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland" as well, you can hear the interesting differences. The Game Boy arrangement, especially, is unique, skillfully adapting the orchestral parts for the hardware during the second loop. The PlayStation 2 (NHK Symphony Orchestra) version is also the only one to include an interlude after the second loop. The remix is based mainly on the Super Famicom version, with sounds from the Super Famicom and Game Boy emphasized, and other sources kept more subtle. The smartphone version of "Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride" uses the same soundtrack as "Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D," so it is omitted here.
