DQ3「そして伝説へ」を聴き比べ＆リミックスしてみた～ゲーム音源比較：ファミコン／スーパーファミコン／ゲームボーイ

This video compares the ending BGM “Into the Legend” from “Dragon Quest III: And So into Legend…” across the Famicom, Super Famicom, and Game Boy versions. In addition, I’ve created a remix combining all three sound sources. (The previous video is now unlisted.) This is an iconic track every Dragon Quest fan knows—no explanation needed. If you’re familiar with Dragon Quest X’s version 5 ending or Dragon Quest XI’s true ending, you’ll recognize this piece as well. The song begins with a bold fanfare and then shifts to a melancholic melody, evoking the emotions of the hero Loto who can never return home—something that always comes to mind whenever I hear it. As with other tracks, the Super Famicom version follows the orchestral arrangement, with a slower tempo and set two keys lower than the Famicom and Game Boy versions. The Famicom version is unique, with a longer middle section (C/D parts looping twice). For the remix, the track length matches the Famicom, while the flow is based on the Game Boy version. Blending these three versions was a challenge and took nearly a month when I first attempted it. I aimed to keep the original feel of each one. The visuals in the video show each version’s ending scene, with the audio processed separately for easier listening. While the visuals mostly match the audio, there may be slight differences from the original hardware. In the remix, all three endings play in sync, but actual game lengths differ, so speeds have been adjusted to end at the same time.
