The Ancient Art Still Alive in the Marquesas Islands

We live in a remote valley on Nuku Hiva Island with no road out. To reach town, we either cross the ocean or hike five hours over the mountain carrying everything ourselves. In this video, we finish carving a tiki before making our way to town to get supplies, visit a doctor, and ship our artwork to people around the world… before heading back home to our valley. Life out here is beautiful, but even simple things become an adventure when you live this far from everything. Hope you enjoy the journey with us! 👉 If you’re wondering how we ended up living like this… https://cannibal-art.com/collections/... 🌍 Free worldwide shipping (print and digital) 🌴 Our handmade Marquesan art: https://cannibal-art.com/ Facebook:   / cannibal.art.marquesas   Instagram:   / cannibal.art.marquesas   ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 – Finishing the tiki (final touches) 02:24 – Leaving the valley 04:23 – First moments in town 06:06 – Sharks circling the fishermen 06:50 – Breakfast in Taiohae 07:56 – Rain turns into a flood 09:13 – The journey back 10:16 – This is our life 🌿 About us We live in a remote valley on Nuku Hiva Island (Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia), one of the most remote places in the world.
