Atacama Desert Wonders: Magic Bus & Valle de la Luna 🏜️ | Slice 6 of Chile 🇨🇱

For the final part of my Chile journey, I head north to the Atacama Desert — one of the driest places on Earth. After flying into Calama Airport, Oscar and I begin our adventure with a stop at the mysterious “Magic Bus” in the middle of the desert. The drive is a little crazy, but the views of dunes, wide plains, and snowcapped mountains make it worth the detour. From there, we continue to Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), exploring iconic stops like Duna Mayor, Tres Marías. The landscapes are surreal — salt crystals sparkling like snow, vast sand dunes, and dramatic colours at sunset. We base ourselves in San Pedro de Atacama, staying at a cozy guesthouse called La Estación, complete with generous snacks, friendly hosts, and plenty of dust (N95 masks highly recommended!). Between sunset viewpoints, desert trails, and hearty Chilean meals in town, Atacama has been both exhausting and unforgettable. This day was all about isolation, vast beauty, and a touch of magic in the desert. 🌄 #Atacama #ChileTravel #SanPedroDeAtacama #ValledelaLuna 🔔 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe—and follow along on Instagram for live updates from the road! 🎥 YouTube: @sliceofkian 📸 Instagram: instagram.com/sliceofkian ___ Contents: 00:00 – Introduction 01:03 – Magic Bus Atacama 02:40 – Cordillera de la Sal 03:01 – Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) 06:28 – Hotel La Estación 09:21 – Sunset at Mirador de Kari - Piedra del Coyote 09:51 – San Pedro de Atacama 10:55 – Adobe (restaurant)
