Hi everyone, it's me again, Ndhuk Tri, who will take you on a closer look at life in transmigration villages and other remote villages in Indonesia. In this episode, we're visiting one of the most famous transmigration areas in Kubu Raya Regency, Rasau Jaya District. However, our destination this time is a village in the interior, specifically in the Bintang Mas 4 area. This transmigration village is a legacy of President Suharto's 1990s era in West Kalimantan. Like the transmigration villages we've visited before, this area is also known as TR because it's located in a tidal zone that was originally opened as a transmigration area. Interestingly, this village is only about 30 kilometers from Pontianak City. The road access is also very good, making the journey here quite easy. Along the way, I saw many areca nuts or jambe (betel nut) drying in front of residents' homes. Do most of the people here depend on areca nut farming for their livelihood? However, one thing was quite surprising. Although this transmigration area consists of 12 TRs, the atmosphere felt quiet. This was in contrast to other transmigration villages I had visited, where the residents were still very much alive. What could be the reason? This village is very close to the provincial capital. To find out, I tried to meet one of the transmigration elders who still lives in Kampung Bintang Mas. Coincidentally, this time we had the opportunity to meet a transmigrant from Lampung. His name is **Mbah Slamet**, who will tell us about the village's journey from its beginnings to the present.
