Hi everyone, it's Ndhuk Tri again with me, taking you on a closer look at the lives of people in transmigration villages and remote villages across Indonesia. This time, we're still in Sumber Rejo Hamlet, a transmigration village left over from President Suharto's time in the interior of Kalimantan. This video is a continuation of the previous episode, so for those of you who haven't seen part 1, please watch it first to make the story easier to follow. In this episode, we'll see the community working in the fields. Fortunately, the weather has been quite sunny for the past few days, with no rain. Road conditions have improved, although they are still dusty. However, compared to the rainy season, these conditions are much more comfortable. When it rains, the roads in this village can be very slippery and quite difficult to navigate, especially since the area is predominantly hilly. Like other villages in the interior of Kalimantan, some of the residents of Sumber Rejo still depend on rice and secondary crops for their livelihood. Although the farmland is located in a hilly area, they still cultivate their rice fields and fields, relying on rainwater as their main source of irrigation. On this trip, I also met several Sumber Rejo residents, former migrants from Java. They arrived and settled in this village when many transmigration homes were abandoned by their previous residents. With enthusiasm and hard work, they continued the struggle to build a life in this challenging land. After exploring the rice fields, we continued to explore the residential area in Block B. Sumber Rejo Hamlet itself consists of Blocks A, B, C, D, and E. Here, we also met with early Trans elders who have remained in this area for forty years.
