Oxidation of Earth's Surface (geobiology)
The evolution of oxygenic photosynthesis provided the first significant flux of an oxidant to Earth's surface. When enough was O2 was being produced by cyanobacteria relative to the flux of reducing chemicals that consumes it, O2 accumulated in the atmosphere. In this video, I talk about that transition.
