Chair Yoga for Gentle Core Strength

Whether you're new to core strength or already have a strong core, this Chair Yoga class is a great practice to explore more ways to awaken your core muscles. The "core" involves muscles of the waist, abdomen, hips, and lower back working together to help you move with greater stability and efficiency. We start with practicing seated pelvic tilt movements, which is a movement skill that is necessary to learn in order to feel where your "neutral" position is for optimum core integration. The first half of this class is practiced seated, while the second half uses the chair for support in several standing positions, including plank and a balance pose.
