65HP J3 Cub , just how bad is the Performance of this Classic Taildragger? It might Surprise you.
Alright, Lets take some GPS Data and overlay on some Take Offs and landings to see what the J3 Cub can do performance wise. I have a Wooden Climb Prop, 65 HP, had half a tank of Gas and weight around 180lbs. Density Altitude for the flight was around 1,000ft. No Flaps and not much Horsepower but a lot of Wing!. The J3 performs better than most would assume considering its lack of Horsepower.
