First Lady Donates Clothes and Wheelchairs to Kangwanda Families

By Cindy Mulomba First Lady Mutinta Hichilema has donated 76 bales of second‑hand clothes, 10 wheelchairs, crutches, and 600 pieces of chitenge material to vulnerable families in Kangwanda area, Lusaka Central Constituency. UPND Chairman General for Special Duties William Banda said the donation reflects the First Lady’s commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable people across the country. He stressed that the support programme, which began in 2021, is a long‑term humanitarian initiative and should not be viewed as an election campaign activity. Mr. Banda added that the programme will continue beyond the 2026 General Election, targeting the elderly, persons with disabilities, and disadvantaged citizens. He further noted that partnerships between government and the church have strengthened efforts to ensure assistance reaches deserving beneficiaries. Meanwhile, Lawyer Dickson Jere pledged to help Kangwanda residents resolve long‑standing land ownership challenges by engaging relevant authorities to secure legitimate titles. Bridging the Gap Between Government and Churches Coordinator Bishop Harry Ncheka said President Hakainde Hichilema has demonstrated commitment to improving lives in Kangwanda and across Zambia, urging residents to support his leadership. And UPND Kabulonga Ward Chairperson Nelson Nkole said Zambia has a caring President who deserves another opportunity to complete the development programmes initiated by his government. #MutintaHichilema #WilliamBanda #DicksonJere #HarryNcheka #NelsonNkole #Kangwanda #CommunitySupport #ZNBCNews
