Nalumango Urges Church to Take Active Political Role

By Chansa Kunda Vice President Mutale Nalumango has implored the Church to take an active role in political participation to ensure citizens have credible representation and leaders who make sound policies. Mrs. Nalumango said people should demystify the old adage that politics is a “dirty game,” stressing that the problem lies with individuals who serve personal interests rather than the people. She made the remarks when she met the Chinsali Clergy Fellowship this morning, urging the Church to continue partnering with Government in its quest to develop the country and champion policies such as the increase in CDF allocation, free education, and social cash transfer. The Vice President further encouraged the Church in the district to utilise the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to access funding for projects aimed at accelerating development. Meanwhile, Chinsali Clergy Fellowship Coordinator Reverend Ndoki Mutale assured Government of the Church’s continued partnership in the developmental agenda and pledged to keep praying for peace and leaders as the country heads to the August 13 polls. #MutaleNalumango #ChinsaliClergy #PoliticalParticipation #CDF #FreeEducation #SocialCashTransfer #ZNBCNews
