This is a video of trains arriving and departing one after another at Shin-Osaka Station on the JR Osaka Higashi Line and Kyoto Line (Tokaido Main Line) (holidays and evenings from 5:30pm to 8pm). Photographed from platforms 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, it shows the special rapid Expoliner, the Osaka Higashi Line direct rapid train (221 series), local trains (221 series), the limited express Kuroshio, Haruka, Kounotori, Thunderbird, and Super Hakuto, as well as the JR Kyoto Line Special Rapid Service and rapid trains on the neighboring platform (platform 5). In preparation for the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, the special rapid Expoliner has begun operating directly from Shin-Osaka to Sakurajima. It travels from Shin-Osaka to Osaka Station on the same route as the Osaka Higashi Line, stopping at the Osaka Station underground platform and Universal City Station before connecting to Sakurajima Station. Other stations such as Nishikujo and Ajigawaguchi are not included. At this time, the Expoliner is the "JR WEST Parade Train", a modified version of the 323 series trains for the Osaka Loop Line. After arriving at platform 2 from Sakurajima, the train turns around at the platform and departs for Sakurajima. The "Hello Kitty Haruka" is on the "Haruka" line, and the "Panda Kuroshio" and "Ocean Arrow" are on the "Kuroshio", but there are also "Haruka" trains without wrapping. With the timetable revision in March 2023, trains on the "Osaka Higashi Line", which previously turned around at Shin-Osaka Station, can now enter Osaka Station (underground platform) on the underground Umeda Freight Line, so trains on the Osaka Higashi Line will depart from and head to Osaka. Platform 1 is mainly for the Osaka Higashi Line, Kubotaji direction, and the "Haruka" Kyoto direction, platform 3 is for the Osaka Higashi Line and the "Haruka" Osaka direction, and platform 2 is used for the "Kuroshio" both for arrival and departure. Some Osaka Higashi Line local trains use platform 2. Platform 4 is for other limited express trains heading to Kyoto. The direct rapid trains on the Osaka Higashi Line are the 221 series. The video shows trains bound for Osaka and Nara. The Kyoto Line rapid trains also had the "Biwako Otsu Murasaki Shikibu Train" and the "Kounotori" wrapped in the "Sanga Train".
