On arriving in the village, we first went to a restaurant for lunch. The dishes, prepared using Catalan produce, were delicious! We then visited the fortress, a World Heritage Site, situated on the hilltop above the village, before strolling through the village. As the village was surrounded by ramparts, it was the scene of numerous battles between Spain and France, but it has remained in very good condition and we were delighted to be able to explore it on this trip. As it was a small village, I thought half a day would be enough, but there were some places we didn’t get to visit, so I’d love to go back one day.
