On February 8, 2025, at around 7:00 p.m., a large fire broke out at the Plana plastics manufacturing company. More than 200 firefighters from the Maribor Fire Brigade, volunteer departments from the Maribor Fire Association and the Starše Fire Association fought the fire. The Police, the Maribor EMS and the Civil Protection were also present at the scene.
