Joy is connected to what you think about, rather than the situation itself. Joy comes when you reflect on the fact that you are in the Lord. Satan tries to steal joy. If you choose joy, Satan loses his foothold. The secret to tolerance is the thought that the Lord is near. Being conscious of God allows you to become more generous. The Bible tells us not to worry about anything. Instead of worry, we must entrust things to God with gratitude. Entrustment requires repetitive training. When you entrust to God, God's peace comes. Peace is God's protection that transcends circumstances. The deeper we come to know God and Jesus, the more peace we experience. Philippians 4:8 presents a standard for our thinking. We must think about what is true and godly. We must hold onto a good report instead of a negative one. Caleb and Joshua gave a report of faith. The word "think" means to meditate deeply, as if calculating. Thinking can be trained. The reason we study the Word is to possess it. Depressive thoughts affect the body as well. The Word of God brings life and health. When we renew our thoughts through the Word, a life of continuous Shalom Shalom emerges.
