Single Mom Fox's Incredible 3 Day Food Haul, 2 Geese, 3 Goslings, 2 Chipmunks, 13 Rodents & a Fish

Over three days, from May 13th to May 16th, mom fox brings 2 geese, 3 goslings, 2 chipmunks, a fish, and at least 13 rodents; it is hard to count them all! And, as the fox pups are playing away from the den, I cannot be sure that my cameras caught every food delivery by mom fox. The pups could have had a meal or two off camera as well. It really is incredible all the food that she catches for them, and yet so sad that while she is away at night, an owl is probably attacking the pups. I used to count 5 pups at a time in front of my cameras, but after May 16th, I only see 4. The pups seem very aware of predators, and they run and hide from a raccoon that visits the den while mom fox is away hunting all this prey. The pups hide in the den and do not come out for 3 hours after the raccoon leaves. I think an owl attacked them quietly from a tree above. They do not see or hear the owl coming. What do you think? In my 12 years of filming the fox family here, there have never been three that were lost. One year, we did lose one pup, but I haven't yet told that story with video. All the other years I've filmed them, the pups have all survived into adulthood because there were two (or three) adults taking care of them. One always babysits them while the other is hunting. Without dad fox, there is no one to babysit her pups. It is very sad to see another pup lost. 📸Trail Camera footage is from May 13th-16th.
